Rosemary McTaggart
Manager/Registrar

Rosemary has been the Manager and Registar for Roucan Loch since it's opening in 2005.  She deals with all aspects of the adminstration side of cremations and green burials, including bookings, accounts and ensuring that all legal documents are collated and checked in time for the Medical Referee.  She is the first point of call for Funeral Directors and the general public. 

Brian Chisholm
Superintendent

Brian has been the superintendant at Roucan Loch since 2005.  Prior to that he worked in the travel industry for 31 years.  Brian enjoys travelling, sailing, going to antique fairs and spending time with family and friends.

Jim Hamilton
Attendant/Landscaper

Jim joined the crematorium in October 2005.  He previously owned the popular 'Old Bank' restaurant for some 15 years and having an easy going manner, he was ideally suited to meeting the public at Roucan Loch.  Jim enjoys the home life with wife Suzy, and children Greg and Chloe.

Jill Templeton
Administration Assistant

Les Jones
Landscaper

Les is well know in gardening circles and was involved with the Heathhall Garden Centre. He also worked for several years with the Co-op Funeral Service and William Jardine.
He helps to maintain the gardens surrounding Roucan Loch. He very much enjoys meeting people, watching television and trying his hand at D.I.Y

Alan Edgar
Maintenance Groundsman

After 40 years as an electrician with ICI/Dupont, Alan joined Roucan Loch in 2007.  After being cooped up inside a factory Alan loves working out of doors and is always keen to develop new projects. 

Alan enjoys football and for many years he was goalkeeper for Threave Rovers and Nithsdale Amateurs.  He now enjoys playing golf or rustling up something in the kitchen for family or friends. 

David Locke
Assistant

David has serviced in the Army, worked for Scotrail and for the British Red Cross.  Prior to joining Roucan Loch in October 2006, he worked for the Activity and Resource Centre in Dumfries. 

David enjoys watercolour painting, television and computing.

Simon Hyslop
Organist

A native of Dumfries, Simon has been playing the organ since the age of 15 and studied music at Glasgow University.  He now lives close to Roucan Loch at Torthorwald with his wife and thier small menagerie.  He has been the resident organist at St Michael's Church in Dumfries for the past 8 years, and has a wide ranging interests in mucic and finds this of benefit in meeting the many varied request of families.

David McCullough
Organist

Until his retirement in 2004, Dave - an honours graduate of Queens University, Belfast - taught English and was principle teacher of Guidance at Maxwelltown High School, Dumfries.  He has been organist of St George's Church, Dumfries since 1975, is MD of Dumfries Male Choir, accompanist for the National Youth Choir of Scotland (Dumfries) and Dumfries Music Festival, and plays piano in a local jazz band.

Matt Kerr
Groundsman

Matt was a weel kent face with Hastings Taxis for some 25 years before working as a cortege driver for a local Funeral Directors.  Matt spent a number of years helping prepare the grounds surrounding Roucan Loch,- creating the beautiful landscape you see today.
